Update on Sewer Cleaning & Televising in select locations in Mahoning Township between October 30th and November 7th.

The televising (CCTV) field crew will be resuming field work on October 27th.  They will be back in the same locations as they were in August and September.  The work will be taking place between October 30th and November 7th. They are not going to be doing anything differently from what was described when you posted the information on-line in August.  Only the folks that received the previous notification letters from Veolia will see the CCTV crew and the CCTV crew will follow the same instructions that were discussed before.  If you do not receive a text or email notice from Veolia Water, your area of the Township will not be affected.

CCTV (Cleaning and Closed-circuit Televising) of Sanitary Sewer Mains entails the following –

  1. Mr. Rehab, LLC. has been contracted to conduct sewer line cleaning and televising.  Mr. Rehab will only do CCTV work on the areas highlighted on the CCTV map.
  2. Cleaning of Sewers:  The cleaning services are part of periodic maintenance of mainline sewers.  Equipment to do the sewer main cleaning will be inserted into a manhole and directed into the sewer main pipe.
  3. Televising of sewers: Utilizing a color video camera inspection system, entire pipe sections will be televised. Equipment to do this televising is inserted into a manhole and fed through the sewer main pipe.
  4. All televising and cleaning equipment is put into the sewer mains (pipes) through the manholes.  No digging or excavation will be needed at any time during this project.
  5. Approximately 95% of cleaning and televising of the sewer mains can be done from the street with no need to be in easement (right of way) areas.
  6. If a sanitary sewer access manhole is in an easement at and on the customers property, Mr. Rehab shall knock on the customer’s door to request the granting of permission to access the manhole.  Again, no digging will be done.  A video vehicle or a sewer cleaning vehicle may need to drive to the manhole location.  The CCTV contractor shall repair any wheel ruts caused by driving the vehicle on the property.
  7. When the CCTV contractor flushes the sanitary sewer main (the pipe between each manhole) for cleaning, it is rare but possible, that toilets or drains in the basement of a house may experience some bubbling or a minor overflow.  If that happens, Mr. Rehab will assist the property owners with the cleanup as necessary.
  8. Veolia Water will send detailed notifications via email and text message to only the individual customers that may be impacted by the project.
  9. Attached is a map showing just the areas that will have the sewer mains televised.  The affected sewer mains are highlighted in yellow.
  10. No private sewer services, nor plumbing in the property-owner’s house, will be cleaned and televised, just the sanitary sewer mains.  Mr. Rehab may need to remove the cap on your outside sewer vent located in the sidewalk or front yard.  That said, there will be no need for Mr. Rehab employees to enter the house.

If you have any issues, please talk directly to the crews working outside or call Mr. Tam Joines of Mr. Rehab at 847-828-0020 for remediation. You can also Contact:
