  1. “The Mahoning Township Police Department would like to alert the public regarding a new tactic scammers are using to deceive individuals into sending money or releasing personal information. The Mahoning Township Police have received reports of scammers identifying themselves as Danville Police Officers and most recently; as Sergeant William Wilt of the Danville Police Department. Sgt. Wilt retired from Danville Police in 2016. The scammers notify the person that they missed a court hearing or ignored a subpoena and there is a warrant for their arrest. If you receive one of these calls hang up or if a message was left, do not call them back. Do not give out personal information or banking information. If you feel your identity has been compromised or if you have concerns, please call the Mahoning Township Police Department at 570-275-5611 to speak with an officer.”

  2. SUEZ Project – Mahoning Township SUEZ is working on an infrastructure improvement project in Mahoning Township. The first phase of the project is underway, which is the installation of new water main. The first phase is anticipated to last through the end of the year. The second phase of the project will include installing new service lines to connect to the new water main. This will begin in 2022. Once all services are completed and tied into the new main, restoration will begin, which consists of repaving. Temporary paving will be done until the entire project is completed. In the event that there will be a planned service interruption during our project, all customers will be notified directly from SUEZ.   3. The Mahoning Township Dept. of Streets & Infrastructure will begin Christmas Tree Pick-up on Monday, January 3, 2022. Weather permitting, pick-up days will be every Monday & Friday. The last pick-up day will be Monday, January 31st, 2022. Trees are to be at curbside by 7 am and will NOT be taken if they contain stands, lights or in plastic bags. Your cooperation is very much appreciated.
