On October 26, 2020 the Mahoning Township Board of Supervisors authorized Chief Frederick C. Dyroff to move forward with a selection process to fill a detective position within the Mahoning Township Police Department (MTPD) with an officer from within the department. The MTPD had detectives in prior years, however; with the changeover of personnel the past several years, the position remained unfulfilled.
The selection process consisted of a written exam, assessment of training and experience, evaluation by immediate supervisor, demonstration of ability, and an interview process by several outside law enforcement agencies.
Chief Dyroff is pleased to announce the selection of Officer Jason Bedisky to the position of Detective for the MTPD. Officer Bedisky, a native of Danville, PA is a 3-year veteran of the MTPD. Prior to MTPD he was an officer and a detective with the Prince William County Police Department in Virginia since 2011. Officer Bedisky will begin his new role as Detective on January 4, 2021.
